Mont-Tremblant National Park is a vast territory comprising hills, mountains, lakes, rivers, and streams. It is popular with hikers, mountain bikers, skiers, and many other types of outdoor sports enthusiasts. The Laurentian Mountains are ideal for hikers, but canoeing fans are attracted to the park’s 400 streams and lakes, and its six rivers, all of which are perfect for exploring.

The park is open throughout the year, but canoeing is best in the summer months. There are over 1,500 square kilometers to explore, and this is Quebec’s second-largest national park. There are also many animals and birds to spot, and traveling by canoe is one of the best ways to see them.

Canoeing Trips: Guided and Self-Guide

One of the best ways to explore the park when you stay in Tremblant hotels during the summer is to go on a guided canoeing tour. This will take you along the Diable River, and your guide will be a park warden who will provide you with interesting information along the way to provide you with a fascinating expert insight into the area.

You will travel for six kilometers along the river, stopping off for something to eat along the way, and you may even be able to swim in the clear water. Look out for animals like beavers and various birds as well. You don’t need any experience and it is suitable for all the family, and you will get all your equipment provided.

The trip lasts about three hours, and it runs from June to September. Make sure you reserve your place in advance to avoid missing out.

Another option is the self-guided trip. This is better if you already have some experience, but it is also suitable for beginners. This is a 12-kilometer trip along the Diable River, and you can go at your own pace. You will get your canoe, paddle, safety kit, and life jacket provided, as well as transport to the start and a pick-up at the end. Again, make sure you reserve in advance

You may also be able to arrange a canoeing trip on the Rouge River. Kayaks are also offered here, and these may be more suitable for beginners because they are more stable and easier to control.
