Countries That Have Won The World Cup

Today I thought I would publish a list of countries that have won the World Cup since the official FIFA tournament began in 1930. Down the years I have been to 4 World Cups, not including the Milk Cup in Northern Ireland. I actually attended quite a few Milk Cups from around 1992 – 1997, that’s a story for another day.
2007 – I attended 2 matches of the under 20s World Cup in Canada.
2014 – I attended 2 matches of the full level World Cup in Brazil.
2018 – I attended 1 match of the full level World Cup in Russia.
2019 – I attended 2 matches of the under 20s World Cup in Poland.

Kissing the FIFA World Cup.

On my backpacking trip, I also did a lot of World Cup related wacaday trips, aside from the obvious World Cups themselves and the 100 + caps I have as a Northern Ireland supporter…

2003 – I visited the Luis Casanova Stadium in Valencia where Gerry Armstrong scored the 1-0 winner against Spain for Northern Ireland (back in 1982).

Gerry Armstrong BANGS the ball past Luis Arconada in 1982 and just over a decade later I sold fanzines in Belfast, named after this moment in football history…
