Quality Unearthed: Glamping

As a backpacker I spend most of my time in hostels, some time in hotels when I’m feeling flush and some time camping when money’s tight – or I’m that far off the beaten track there isn’t another option.

But one often unexplored option is the half way house between a hotel and camping – GLAMPING.

But what are the reasons for choosing a glamping holiday rather than camping?

Extra Comfort

There’s no denying that camping can be a little uncomfortable. Whether you’ve pitched your tent over an ants’ nest, woken up with a stiff back because there’s been a root sticking into it all night or suffered with overnight rain which has turned your campsite into a swamp, we’ve all experienced camping gone wrong.

With glamping it’s a totally different experience, with most glamping sites offering a wealth of cosy blankets, deep, soft and luxurious mattresses and anything else you can think of to keep you comfortable.

More romantic

Again, camping isn’t always romantic, despite how you may imagine it. So if you’re travelling as a couple, why not opt for a camping option where romance is more or less guaranteed.

Enjoy the experience of sleeping in a tipi or Romany caravan, without having to worry about lugging your home for the night around with you.

Less preparation

There’s one thing money can’t buy – and that’s time.

So when you glamp the time you save on not having to get packed and then pitch a tent on arrival makes it a wise investment. Simply hop in the car or on a bus, plane or train with the bare necessities and when you reach your destination you can immediately start enjoying it.

Location

When you camp you can enjoy great locations – but you’ll be stuck in a field with dozens of other campers. And if you try freedom camping, where you simply pitch your tent where you please, you’re at risk of being moved on by landowners at any time.

But with glamping you can choose from a range of stunning locations which come with ready to sleep in luxurious and quirky accommodation.

So why not consider UK glamping holidays today?
