I thought I’d seen it all with hotels, until I arrived in Paris for the umpteenth time this year. Even today (19th November 2018), this horrendous racist and corrupt hotel sent ME a form asking for ME to fill it in in order to get the MONEY that they stole from me 6-7 weeks ago. They stole £120 from me, completely illegally from my bank account and claim they cannot pay me the money back via bank transfer or via PayPal and have now after 7 weeks asked me to fill in a “request to THEM” for MY money back.
Avoid this assholic and racist hotel in Paris please. I hope it shuts down soon.
We stupidly booked into the IBIS Budget Paris Porte de Vincennes, France. On arrival after a long trip, we went to check in. I had my reservation and everything ready and went up to the reception, using the French that I know.
The receptionist and the security guard BOTH ignored me, refused to let myself and my travel friend check in. However, 3 families, all of whom were black (to prove this was racist) were able to check in straight away and welcomed. It was the first time I had witnessed this type of racism in a hotel in my life. We simply weren’t allowed into our room.
When we finally got into our dirty room, we knew we had paid the bill already through Booking.com. I don’t often use Booking.com but in this case I used it as Paris can be busy and we wanted a cheap and easy hotel booked in advance. The room was about £60 for a night, so £30 each.
The next day with more racism obvious, we were told we didn’t even need to hand in any key to check out, we could just leave as the key to the door was actually a 4 digit passcode. So we walked out and didn’t even need to say goodbye.
Then I backpacked in Africa for 10 days, in Togo and Benin, we had a great time. However when I returned to Poland, I found that the hotel had charged me TWICE for the shitty racist room. If they had admitted this and paid me back, I could possibly have forgiven the dirty room and the racism. But it wasn’t to be. Their lying response was just as bad.
They blamed “a fault in the system” for the double charging. I asked for my money back IMMEDIATELY before I go to the Police. They refused, saying they couldn’t refund me.
After some begging, they said they could try and pay me back IF I SEND THEM MY BANK DETAILS!!!
No chance – first of all, I have worked in hotels and bars. I know how it works – the customer comes first – you refund us straight away – no bullshit, no excuses. It’s easy to organise a refund to the same account. The hotel refused.
They asked for my bank details. Having been used to scammers down the years of course I refused to give them bank details. I asked them to pay me on PayPal they refused.
NOW – what if I have no bank account or PayPal? Then it means they will never and can never pay me. Post me a cheque, send me the cash you racists.
I am so disgusted by them. I will be writing more about this. This is just the start.
PAY ME BACK ASAP before I expose your racism and theft.
