For anyone heading to Destin in Florida, this seaside town makes a perfect location to watch the sunset from the beach before chilling out at night in the many bars and restaurants in town. Some of the hotels in Destin have their own bars attached to them but you might want to head out and check what other options are available and hopefully this short list of five will get you started.

1. Fudpucker’s Beachside Bar and Grill
The name of this place tells you all you need to know. After a day of relaxing on the beach, indulging in watersports and swimming in the ocean, it’s time for a decent meal and a few drinks in a beach side bar. The perfect location ofFudpucker’s Beachside Bar and Grill in Destin makes it a superb spot to watch the sun go down and make the most of your vacation time.

2. Hog’s Breath Destin
The Hog’s Breath pub is a short walk from Destin Bridge in the downtown area and has a patio for outdoor drinks and a good spacious indoor area too. It is very family focused and offers good seafood and barbecued food as well a kid’s menu, some signature drinks and live music.

3. McGuire’s Irish Pub and Brewery
Inevitably an Irish Pub has to make the list of top bars in Destin and McGuire’s lives up to the Irish stereotype. McGuire’s opened in 1996 and has gone from strength to strength. With Irish beers on tap and lots of pictures on the walls, this has the feel of an authentic Irish Pub, the exterior is green and the place has an ambience the Irish would be proud of. They do an excellent Reuben steak sandwich, have a great cocktail menu and a Happy Hour to keep budget travellers happy. St. Patrick’s Day goes down well here and they have Guinness on tap.

4. Red Door Saloon
The Red Door Saloon in Destin is a great budget option. They sell affordable hot dogs, wraps, pizzas and sandwiches. The Red Door Saloon is part of a chain of bars, using the slogan “Enjoy, we built these bars for you!” The Destin Red Door Saloon has good food, a quirky and unique decor and well trained and customer orientated staff.

5. Boathouse Oyster Bar
Not to be missed is the chance to enjoy some excellent tasty seafood at the Boathouse Oyster Bar in Destin. Of course oysters are the speciality here and this is widely regarded as the best place in town to eat oysters. It’s also right on the water so you get fantastic views out to sea and many people love the balcony for early evening beers.

All in all these five bars and restaurants should definitely keep you from getting too hungry or thirsty when you choose to spend your vacation here by the tranquil ocean at Destin in Florida.
