World Borders: My Journey from Yorkshire in England to Tytannia Province, Empire of Adammia

World Borders: My Journey from Yorkshire in England to Tytannia Province, Empire of Adammia

I’ve crossed a load of land borders in my time, and to be honest 90% of them are known borders. Public knowledge, they’re even on maps. This one, from the region of Yorkshire in England into the Tytannia Province in the Empire of Adammia is somewhat obscure. It’s not on any maps. In fact, I’d be surprised if you have heard of it!!

Without doubt it’s in the 10% of unknown borders. So much so, that it’s actually a secret. I personally crossed the border and backpacked through the capital of Adammia (Imperial City, Tytannia Province) as well as visiting two other regions in the country (Maternia and Jagstonian Plains). All of these places are in fact in the region of Yorkshire in England. It is land and property that England and the United Kingdom take for granted as there. But yet, this is the Empire of Adammia and there is a border to cross. Suddenly, on this secret journey, I was no longer in England!

Where is the Empire of Adammia?
The Empire of Adammia is a secret and unknown nation. The exact location of the country, and even its capital city, cannot be given out. It is private information. It’s a secret nation. But what I can tell you is that the capital city is called the Imperial City and it is housed in the Tytannia Province. The Tytannia Province of Adammia has a clear border within the region of Yorkshire in England. It’s landlocked within Yorkshire. In terms of nearest towns or cities, I can tell you that Leeds, Barnsley and Wakefield are all close by. They are near Adammia. The website of the Empire of Adammia has all the information you need, and all you will find out. The rest, is a secret. Luckily I’m in on the secret and all I can reveal is that the country, the Empire of Adammia is somewhere on this map.

Here is a photo I took on route to the Empire of Adammia, this was across the border in the county of West Yorkshire, England, United Kingdom.

Getting to Yorkshire, England
I travel overland most of the time and I have been to Yorkshire quite a few times, visiting Leeds, Sheffield and Doncaster down the years. On this occasion I was based in nearby Manchester, staying at the Park Inn by Radisson. I got a train from Manchester Oxford Road station to Leeds in Yorkshire and that took around an hour. Trains can be booked through the official National Rail websites, or even better – save money by booking them on Megatrain.com and The Trainline.com.

I got off my train from Manchester in the city of Leeds. I then transferred trains here at Leeds. It was from the Northern Line train to the Cross Pennine train. To add a bit of spice to this secret journey, my train said “Mystery Excursion” on it.

My train was a "Mystery Excursion" to Adammia.

The journey from Leeds to Wakefield was very fast. I boarded my train at 11.21 am and arrived at Wakefield Westgate at 11.36 am. Wakefield is in the English County of West Yorkshire.

On arrival at Wakefield Westgate, as pre-arranged on this secret mystery tour, I was greeted by the Head of State for Adammia and His Imperial Majesty Emperor, Adam the First.

Wakefield is a city in West Yorkshire and is a big rugby league city. It also houses Europe’s largest high security prison, HM Prison Wakefield. Wakefield has a population of around 76,000.

The crossing from West Yorkshire in England to the Tytannia Province of Adammia is a simple one. I was the first backpacker and tourist to visit the country and was therefore escorted by the Imperial Family to their capital. I was collected at Wakefield Westgate train station and driven directly to the Tytannia Province. On the way, I was given a detailed overview of the England side of the border, before we arrived in Tytannia Province in the Empire of Adammia.

My first entry into Adammia was by car across the border into West Road, also known as the M1. I believe this to be the widest road and motorway in Adammia. On entry, I get my photo taken at the border and I cross the border on foot.

The border is noticeable as the English/British footpath is on one side and the Empire of Adammia is a driveway to the capital city of Adammia on the other side.

Part of the border is a brick wall, therefore the only access point on ground level is via the West Road. Tytannia is completely landlocked within England.

When I arrive into the province of Tytannia, I am now in Adammia. I have left England behind. Adammia and England share good links and there is no manned border control or border check. That said, all visits MUST be arranged in advance and indeed I was the first tourist and backpacker to cross this border for tourism purposes.

Arrival in Tytannia, Adammia

Adammia is a new country, and was formed on the 13th April 2013. I didn’t need a passport or any bag checks. This was slightly different to the People’s Republic of Podjistan, Iran and China. When I visited those three countries, passports were stamped and checked. There is no passport stamp available on arrival in the Empire of Adammia.

Once I arrived in the country, I was escorted by Emperor Adam to the capital city, which is known as Imperial City. Again, the city is locked for visitors and can only be accessed by contacting the Adammic government and being approved in advance. The Imperial City is also the largest building in the country, so the fact it’s the capital city, comes as no surprise. The capital city is around 10 yards from the border with England.

Shoes are removed on arrival, a welcome drink of tea is served and I am given an introduction to the country, meeting 2 pets (a dog called Billy and a bird called Billy) and 6 of the country’s population. I am now inside the Imperial City and have successfully arrived in the capital city of the Empire of Adammia.
