It has been a while since I have done a World Travellers on here, my depression and suicide bid have really affected the blogs and I make no apologies for it. However, it is good that Ali and Lubaina got in touch and are the latest on the World Travellers Series.
Who are you?
Ali and Lubaina (Aliasgar Sadriwala and Lubaina Sadriwala), A couple
who got married in January 2014 and following our passion of Travel,
Food and Fashion.
Where are you from?
We both are from Mumbai, India.
Where have you been?
Before marriage, Ali has travelled to many parts of India and lived 2
years in London for further studies and 1 year in Dubai for work.
Lubaina has travelled to many parts of India as well. After marriage
we have travelled to many states of India covering Rajasthan, Gujarat,
Kerala, Himachal, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh etc and took our first
international trip to USA in May 2016
Where are you now?
We are currently in Mumbai and preparing for our trip to Canada and Indonesia.
What are the top 3 places you’ve visited?
New York, USA
What is the best travel experience you’ve had?
Our first trip as a couple was in Kerala, India. That’s the place
which has brought us close to nature and where we decided that we will
keep travelling often and then came up with this blog.
What is the worst travel experience you’ve had?
Once we were travelling from Madhya Pradesh to Mumbai in Train and we
had a reservation seat but as soon as we boarded the train and saw
that our seats were already occupied with few people and we really had
to beg to get our own seat which we paid for.
What is the funniest travel experience you’ve had?
On our trip to Goa, India when we were excitedly waiting at the
conveyor belt for our luggage, our excitement went dull when we kept
waiting at the belt and our luggage didn’t turn up. Later we started
to get really worried as we thought our luggage might have been
displaced or even worst “lost” but then to our amusement we realised
that we were on the wrong belt all together and could see our luggage
on just adjacent belt. We then laughed about it as we moved on.
What is the scariest travel experience you’ve had?
Ali – On my trip to Iran and Iraq in 2007. I encountered such experience.
It was almost a 24 hour journey from Tehran, Iran to Karbala, Iraq.
Including the 3 hours at the Border. We reached Mehrabad Border early
in the morning and had been stopped by the guards at border and were
told that we would not be allowed to cross till someone from Iraq
comes to receive us. Travel agents had all their settings in place as
after 2-3 hours of wait, The person came and named us and verified our
group to cross the border. No paper stamp, nothing. We crossed the
border from a side space and I could see other people putting stamp on
their respective passports and standing in a queue but we literally
just escaped from the side without any stamp.
On the way, I could hear the sound of Gunshots and military vehicles,
it was very scary and in between at the check post, the bus needed to
be stopped and some guard from military would come check the bus, then
the agent would speak something and show some paper and we were
allowed to leave without any hassle.
What is the most random job you have had on your travels?
We have never taken any job while travelling as of now.
How do you fund your travels?
As of now we are travelling through our Savings/ income from business
and bit of freelance
What 3 tips would you give a new traveller before they set off on
1. Don’t waste Time in researching and thinking but rather be
focused and just go for it.
2. Make your marriage interesting, Travel the world together,
taste great food and wear fashionable clothes.
3. Don’t always stick to plan. Sometimes its great to explore
things out of your way and expectation.
What are your future travel plans?
Initially we want to travel to Canada and then Indonesia, while we are
planning to cover south East Asia and Gulf in couple of years.
Ali and Lubaina, a couple behind Lubuzine who is travelling with
leisure and not in haste. . Life has so many things to offer. From
different food to places to style. We want to taste and share it all. 🙂
