Backpacking in Bavaria: My Stay at the Five Reasons Hostel in Nuremberg

When I heard that there was a hostel called Five Reasons Hotel and Hostel in Nuremberg, Bavaria, I knew this was the place to be for my short stay in this historic Bavarian city. When I stay in hostels over 200 nights per year, I’m constantly aware of their vibe, the passion they supply me with and ultimately they keep me on the road. And Five Reasons? Well I normally give five reasons to stay in each hostel!! So in an ice cool twist of fate, here are five reasons to stay at the five reasons hostel. And in the same city as the Nuremberg rallies, and the Nuremberg trials.

1.Alt Stadt and Haupt Bahnhof Location
The Five Reasons Hostel is situated on Frauentormauer StraBe (literally sounds like “Lady’s Wall Gate”) so you are right in the heart of Nuremberg here!

It’s a 1 minute walk from the U-Bahn, it’s a 3 minute walk from the Haupt Bahnhof and it’s in the Old Town, so you can check out all the main sights easily on foot.

2.It’s a hotel and a hostel
I love the way the niche was diversified here. The Five Reasons is both a hotel and a hostel.

The great thing is that it feels, looks and runs smoothly as both. I was in a dorm room (room 11) so it had the feel of a hostel. The breakfast was a little bit more exquisite and had the feel  of a hotel and I got talking to the staff, some backpackers and even families with children who also stayed here. The interior decor and design is pristinely clean!

3.Smiling Staff
As a person who spent way too many years working in customer service jobs, I know that customer service is number one for any business like this. The smiling welcoming staff were superb here, especially Johannes and Valerie. It goes a long way to improving your stay.

4.Wi-Fi Lounge and Common Area.
Wi-Fi works everywhere in the building, and is free. After the crazy adventures in Central Asia, it was time to get back to writing some new articles on Europe and I started it all here.

5.Excellent Breakfast
As well as my excellent breakfast here, there is a superb bar and cafe. The Five Reasons Hotel and Hostel do a range of good coffees and serve a decent choice of beers, including some good local brews.
