On my return back to Europe after over three months in Asia and the Middle East, it was time for a nice relaxed, easy option – a hotel close to the airport. I normally plump for city centre hotels, but this was a brilliant change as I was tired from my flight and I had seen Copenhagen enough times not to worry about being downtown at the start. So I got off my flight at Copenhagen International Airport and I was just two metro stops from the fantastic Park Inn by Radisson.

The Park Inn is a clean, pristine, well designed and popular hotel, part of the new mid-range hotel chains brought to us by Radisson. This was my first ever experience of a Park Inn and one which I loved and hope can be the first of many. As I have mentioned before on here, as our backpacking lifestyle progresses and I work for myself online, some nights we just need a decent hotel with no distractions and no need to become a dorm sharing backpacker 12 months a year.

After landing back in Copenhagen, I got through immigration, grabbed my bag and headed on the Metro system to Femoren – just two stops from the airport and there it is – the Park Inn by Radisson is right beside the metro station! I was ready to relax and this hotel ticked all the boxes for me for these five main reasons.

1.Spacious and Cosy Rooms
The Hotel is ace – a real gem of a place to relax in. I was put in a good room – really good room. Room 602 which was on the top floor with a good view – a desk, a clean bathroom, a TV and WiFi. After a crazy time in Bangladesh and Bahrain, this was my first hotel in Europe for over 5 months.

2.Huge Breakfast Selection
The breakfast served up a real treat. I am a huge fan of Danish Cheese and Danish pastries so I stuffed myself on this type of food over breakfast.

Good coffee, juices, cereals, fruit and fried breakfast is all standard too. As a bonus, the hotel provides complimentary tea and coffee throughout the day as well, in the lobby.

3.Rural Tranquility
I’ve been to Copenhagen three times (five if you count jaunts to Sweden in between) so I have no need to visit the city and spend long days exploring the streets any longer. My days backpacking through Christiania have probably taken their toll!

4.Airport Proximity
Being just two stops from Copenhagen Airport, this means not much of a delay or wasted time in getting your flight, or arriving from one. Plus, you are only 5 stops from Christianshavn on the Metro, and 7 stops from Kongens Nytorv.

5.Relaxation
Not only was my room relaxing, but the hotel has a clean and comfortable vibe to it. There is a swimming pool in the hotel, a gym and you are only a short walk from the beach. Overall, I was really impressed by this place and despite a busy schedule (touring Ladonia, Sweden and Christiania) I still found time to relax here! Alcohol is available at the Hotel, as is room service and fast internet.
