The John Freakin Muir Podcast: Backpacking Centurion Exclusive, Lock In Lee, Broccoli Farming and Antarctica

Aside from my shelved (and in many ways flopped) radio career, doing podcasts and radio interviews became a new trend on my backpacking adventures. Each time I have been featured on a Podcast has been highly enjoyable and each one was very very different. I am featured this week on the fantastic John Freakin’ Muir Pod by excellent presenter Doc.

Then in May / June 2020 as I prepared to launch the first Volume of Backpacking Centurion, I was contacted by Doc at the John Freakin Muir Podcast and delighted that I am featured on Episode 24 there. This was also a crazy event as the first date and time suggested by Doc, we had a misunderstanding and both missed it. Then, when we rescheduled the interview, it came at a time where I looked like this…

In Hospital in Warszawa, Poland

In Hospital in Warszawa, Poland

Yes I was supposed to do the podcast interview just hours after my 3 day stint in a Warszawa hospital due to being hit by a train, knocked unconscious and lucky to be alive. So we finally got it rescheduled…Yes, of course the Pod is a bit promotional for my book series but as this podcast was so enjoyable, and lasted longer than my previous ones, there are a few exclusives told on there. • Hi Holly, thanks for the comment and apologies for the delayed response. Yes it was very painful and I had 3 days in hospital and could have died as I was hit on the head by a train. Doctors wouldn’t let me eat or drink anything (not even water) for aroun 18 hours. They thought there was blood in my brain. Luckily, by the grace of God on the second scan, there was no blood in my brain and life can go on. The scars won’t heal though. Stay safe. Jonny
