The summer months are for making MLB betting picks and watching games while enjoying a nice hot dog. All of this can be done while at home, but you can also watch games in person to get the complete experience.
There are 30 teams in Major League Baseball, giving you plenty of opportunities to travel around the country to different stadiums. Some divisions provide better travel experiences than others, and it is the American League East Division that is the one you should be targeting.
This division always seems to be one of the best in baseball, and it’s also full of great cities. Here is a look at each of the five cities that you can visit in the American League East Division.
Baltimore, Maryland
The first stop on your trip through the AL East Division will take you to Baltimore, Maryland. This city is home to the Baltimore Orioles, and this is a team that has plenty of history in the franchise.
Not only is this a pretty historic franchise, but Camden Yards is one of the best ballparks in the entire league. Camden Yards set the stage for some of the other newer ballparks that are out there now, as it was extremely modern at the time.
This city is one of the best on the East Coast as well, and you will find plenty to do if you spend some time in Baltimore.
Boston, Massachusetts
Boston is home to the Red Sox, and this is one of the most historic and iconic baseball teams in Major League Baseball. The Red Sox play their home games at Fenway Park, and it’s one of the best venues in the entire world.
Boston is a city that is absolutely loaded with history, and some of the nation’s biggest events took place right there. This is also a city that has been modernized and improved over time, and that will enhance your experience if you visit Boston.
New York City, New York
New York City is home to two MLB teams, but the better of the two competes in the AL East Division. The Yankees have won more World Series titles than any other team in baseball history, and they have featured lineups full of historical players.
The new Yankee Stadium is not quite as nice as some previous versions, but it’s still worth a trip to watch this team place. Of course, New York City is also one of the biggest cities in the world, and you will have no shortage of things to do.
Tampa, Florida
The outlier in the American League East is the Tampa Bay Rays, as they play baseball in a much different part of the country. Tampa, Florida, is one of the best cities in the U.S. to visit, and it’s a nice bonus if you are taking a trip through the NL East Division.
This is the one ballpark in the AL East Division that you could probably go without visiting, and it’s always a stadium that is empty. Despite the limited fan attendance, the Rays continue to be one of the best teams in the American League.
Of course, you can also spend time in Tampa doing other fun things, including visiting a beach or simply spending time outside to warm up.
Toronto, Canada
Another bonus if you choose to visit all of the cities in the AL East Division is the fact that you will also be able to take a trip across the border to Canada. The Toronto Blue Jays are the lone Canadian team left in MLB, but they are also one of the better teams.
Toronto is an underrated city in terms of travel destinations, and it won’t take long for you to realize that if you make this a stop on your summer baseball tour. The Rogers Centre in Toronto will provide a terrific stadium environment and experience, and there is plenty to do in the city before and after the game as well.
