Drinking Naked🙈At Perch Bar🔞, Orient Beach, Saint Martin: The ONLY Nudist Beach Bar In The Caribbean!!

I omitted the words “Thirsty Thursdays” from the title only because the title would have been too long and cumbersome, but this was a wild one and it is a Thirsty Thursday post. The Perch Bar is legendary! It is a bar housed out of an old shipping container and it is located at Orient Beach on the East Coast of Saint Martin (the French side). This is the ONLY legally nude beach bar in the entire Caribbean. So I had to go!!

Down the years, this blog and my travels have hardly been shy of nudity…

Where Is Perch Bar?

Perch Bar is located at the southern end of Orient beach in the French part of Saint Martin in the Caribbean. That part of Orient beach is Nudist / Naturist / Naked. Anyone can go totally naked at any time. However, the northern part of Orient beach is NOT nudist – do not go naked there as it is an offence. If you are unsure of the cut off point, there are many signs showing the entrance and border between the willy out and willy covered parts. If you are unsure, keep walking south until you see someone’s norks or dick and then you know you can get yours out.

There is a car park at Perch Bar so if you are teetotal and driving, this is a good option. I’m a drinker and a thinker so I wasn’t here by car. I backpacked it and in fact, I stayed in Mount Vernon for a couple of nights just north (35-40 minutes walk) and I slept on the beach one night, and even had a nude morning nap there. On Google Maps it is easy to find.

What Is Perch Bar?

Perch Bar is a nudist bar on Orient Beach in the French side of Saint Martin. It is a fully functional bar offering coffee, tea, soft drinks, beers, wines and signature cocktails! Basically it is a normal bar with normal prices (except during Happy Hour where it goes 50% off!!!). There are also typical bar snacks and a full men with burgers and toasties etc.

Happy Hour At Perch Bar – 2 Beers for $3 US (THREE US Dollars)!!

Even if you don’t like nudity or being around naked people – the happy hour price is hard to beat. EVERY SINGLE day from 13.30 to 14.30 the beers are 2 for 1, and so is EVERY drink – 2 cocktails for the price of one during that time!!

I milked this three days in a row!!

Photography At Perch Bar

Understandably photography is forbidden. You do sometimes see younger people with their smart phones out and they will point them to you. Sometimes you are not sure if they are photographing you, and other nudists or they are taking selfies. But in general everyone respects the no photo rule. It is unfair to photograph genitalia and post it online without other’s permission, there might be a few other nudists in the photos below but they are distant. I used my Northern Ireland flag to cover my southern buzzer.

That said, I took a few photos in and around the bar for the purpose of this post, to show people and I made sure nobody else was naked in those photos.

Opening Hours Of Perch Bar

When I asked what time it opens, the bargirl replied “eight thirty nine”. I then realised she meant “eight thirty / nine”. In general it is open from 9 a.m. every day. In extreme weather, it might be forced to close. It closes around dusk or when the customers retreat for the evening. You an still be on the beach nude 24 / 7 but the bar closes just before sunset. There are a few other bars on the same beach but you must wear clothes in them.
