Today’s featured food comes from Argentina. Is the famous Argentinian beef all it cracked up to be? Well when I was in Buenos Aires I just had to try a decent steak meal. Rather than buy one from a shop and cook it, I headed out with a travel buddy to a decent restaurant near Florida Street in Buenos Aires. It was called La Leyenda and was on a lit up but quiet street corner.
The restaurant wasn’t too busy and service was good. First came a starter.
From the menu I selected a tasty sirloin which came with chips and tomato.I asked for it cooked medium to well as this is my preference.
The starter was a selection of bread. We drank wine and beer with our meal.
So was the Argentine steak all it’s cracked up to be? To be honest it was nice and I finished it BUT Australian, Irish and British beef all beat it in my opinion. Plus Argentina and particularly Buenos Aires doesn’t rank high with me. I find it a dirty, over hyped arrogant city in truth. But the steak had to be tried, it was and of course I’d recommend getting a steak in BA. The joys of travelling…
