AI, Artificial Intelligence has gone nuts. They are now writing books and I even curiously asked them to write a mock book chapter for me to test it. Absolutely nuts.
My next book will be called “AVERAGE INHABITANT” which is coincidentally the initials AI…I even asked them to mock up a design cover for that and they failed to even spell it correctly!
Chapter One: Arrival in the Mediterranean
Jonny Blair was a man on a mission. A restless traveler fueled by curiosity and an unquenchable thirst for exploring the world’s hidden gems. This time, the allure of the turquoise Mediterranean had pulled him to a lesser-known destination: Northern Cyprus.
As his plane descended towards Ercan International Airport, Jonny leaned against the window, captivated by the vibrant contrast below—green fields brushing against jagged rocky cliffs, all surrendering to the shimmering blue of the sea. He was entering a place steeped in history, wrapped in the whispers of ancient civilizations.
Stepping off the aircraft, the warm Cypriot air greeted him like an old friend. With his trusty backpack slung over one shoulder and a notebook ready for scribbles of inspiration, Jonny made his way through the small, bustling terminal. His first challenge? Navigating the chaos of finding a shared taxi to Kyrenia, his intended base for adventure.
“You from Scotland, mate?” a fellow traveler queried, noticing Jonny’s Northern Irish accent as they piled into the van together. “Not quite,” Jonny quipped with a grin, “Northern Ireland, but close enough. And you?”
Their conversation meandered from football to world politics, as the taxi swerved along mountain roads that revealed breath-taking vistas. Scrabo-like towers of green rose steeply above villages seemingly frozen in time. Jonny began to feel an undeniable pull—a connection between his hometown’s landscape and this rugged Mediterranean escape.
By evening, Jonny found himself strolling along the harbor of Kyrenia, charmed by the bobbing fishing boats and the faded glow of medieval castle walls. He grabbed a Pepsi Max from a roadside café, enjoying the sweet fizz as he admired the sunset—his symbol of travel’s unpredictable beauty.
Tomorrow would bring ancient ruins, beach escapades, and maybe even a meeting with a shepherd tending goats in the hills. But tonight, Jonny relished the quiet buzz of discovery and the promise of stories waiting to be lived.
What do you think? Shall we continue Jonny’s Northern Cyprus adventure?
