Football Stadiums I’ve Visited

I’ve always wanted to “do the 92” (i.e. visit every single English League team’s football stadium, including Welsh teams, ex-League teams) and it’s still one of my travel dreams.

On my travels through over 100 countries, I have visited as many football stadiums as I could, watching a match in more than half of them, as well as loving other sporting events, my favourite 6 stadiums are these 6:

1. The Oval Grounds, Belfast, Northern Ireland
2. Windsor Park, Belfast, Northern Ireland
3. Dean Court, Bournemouth, England
4. Estadio Centenario, Montevideo, Uruguay
5. The Maracana, Rio, Brazil
6. Estadio Azteca, Mexico City, Mexico

(here is the full top 10 list)

I also love my football facts and figures and love the banter down the pub with my mates who support all teams. Sites like football elevens are great for reading up on fun footy facts. These are all the stadiums I have been to, by country, the list is not completely up to date just yet:

  • The price of attending games in England means I no longer go to random grounds on weekends but I still love visiting them when I travel. You’ve built an impressive list.

  • Hi Stuart thanks for the comment. Apologies for the delay in reply – I have been suffering from deep depression the last few years and not replying or checking all comments and emails. However I am confused – many matches in England (and other countries) are FREE every way so we can still go to random grounds all the time and go groundhopping. I do it in Poland. It’s only really the top 10 divisions that charge money – you can definitely find free matches each weekend. Stay safe. Jonny
