“Keep on chasing down that rainbow.
You never know what you might find.
Over the sunset on the horizon,
it may be a dream but it tastes like poison.”
– Noel Gallagher
Life is a journey and it should be treated as exactly that. It’s a rollercoaster ride from start to finish so hang in there and savour every moment. But don’t hold back on your own personal dreams, make them realities. I’ve known so many talented people down the years. I worked with comedians in a theatre, I worked with some first rate bartenders, I did PR for a company called Apple Inc. But all the while I met people who were not fulfilling their potential. In each and every job. People hanging around for years in jobs that didn’t suit them, that wasted their talents. But who I am to preach?
Unlock your potential and find out what you are good at and passionate about. Turn it into a career. Please don’t keep moaning about your job. It’s in your hands and your destiny to change it. Imagine wearing a suit for a business coffee morning in a London coffee house with clients. If you live out your dreams and potential, you could wear swimming shorts from a beach in the Philippines and still have your business coffee mornings from your digital office.
If you don’t like your job, set up your own company, become a freelancer, follow your passions in life.
“You have a passion for life” – Rafal Kowalck
The real inspiration for this one today lies with sleeping giants from my journeys. Don’t be the sleeping giant. In May 2010, AFC Bournemouth played in the fourth division of English football. Yesterday, in August 2015, AFC Bournemouth played in the first division of English football. The highest one. The creme de la creme. The top flight. The Premier League. Imagine if AFC Bournemouth can play in all four divisions of English football within 5 calendar years, there are no limits any more. I thought it was a dream and I also thought that earning money from a personal travel blog was a dream. Turns out we don’t need to waken up. It’s all really happening. Just don’t waste your time and talents. Live your potential.
Punch above your weight.

Don’t dream it. Get out there and turn your passion into plans, then put your plans into action. And don’t worry if you’ve only just realised. You still have time. It’s not to late. It’s never too late to be what you might have been. Yes, I nicked the idea from Noel Gallagher again. Perhaps it’s just the beauty of a rags to riches story that we all love. I just want the fu*king glamour mate, while proving that it’s cool to backpack the world and sod the rest. The life others expected me to lead. The life I could have had. Bulldogs to that. I’m off to backpacking through Bangladesh in less than two weeks, running a mini-business from my laptop. A business that was once a sleeping giant too. Find your passion and go for it. The same sun sinks all over the world you know.
You might have some masterplans brewing inside of you. They might be sleeping. They Might be Giants.
