“Sleeper” – Louise Wener.
The Maldives will never rank high on my travel odyssey. A country that caused me stress, heartache, fake news, bribery, corruption and theft of money. I won’t be back till ye. Close yer door on the way out, “The” Maldives, or send me £2,000 which won’t even cover your fakery. I still cannot fathom it or get my head round it all. But before it all went wrong, I had prepared to write so many good articles. Weird how life pans out, this is supposed to be a good review of a cool place to sleep! And your immigration and airlines fucked it all up.
I did keep my promise to write about it though, I actually deleted all my Facebook posts on The Maldives 🇲🇻 that I posted live there, too angry and bankrupt to care. That was a protest. You don’t deserve my publicity. Yet you’re getting it again you flukey bastards. I must say it is not Nap Corner’s fault. Nap Corner is decent. This was supposed to be a great review!
So where to sleep? Well I’ll review 4 different accommodation places in this country.
1.A richboy resort. Vadoo.
2.A Mid Range Guesty. Chao on Maafushi.
3.A Budget Whackpacking Joint. Wind Stay Hostel.
4.A Pod Dorm. Here, at Nap Corner.
Reminders of Curacao, Gatwick and Astana all in one came together when I backpacked my way to Dorm Pod 1 at Nap Corner in Male, The Maldives. I was here for a quick night only and it certainly is well priced, well located and is cosy. Nap Corner is excellent.
There are 10 Dorm beds here in pods. You know the drill if you’ve backpacked before.
I was in Dorm Pod Bed One. Double left on the way in, and upper bunk. It was all purple which totally reminded me of Yotel at Gatwick…
And then there are the specs, what do I have here?
Inside my Pod, I had…
– WiFi. Decent.
– 2 lights.
– A mirror.
– 2 sockets for charging.
– A pillow.
– A mattress.
– A sheet.
– AirCon.
– A wake up alarm.
– A sliding door.
– A lock.
– A safe.
– A temperature check.
Outside the nap corner Pod, I also have a working shower, bathroom, lockers, iron and chill out zone!
It’s safe, secure, quiet yet still sociable. I met a cute Japanese backpacker here and in the hall area you can actually chat and chill out. Here are a few pointers…
– There are only 10 beds here, so do book early.
– it’s quite hard to find, look up on the street and you will see a sign. Push the buzzer and walk up the stairs.
– You can only stay one night. Maximum stay is listed as 12 hours for a “nap”, officially though I stayed here from 5 p.m. until about 10 a.m. though I vacated my bed at 9.00 a.m.

Which footballer scored 43 international goals, none of the first 38 were in the World Cup, but ALL of the last 5 were in the World Cup?

Napcorner is a tool designed to offer more freedom to our guests from around the world. Guests can check in 24 hours a day and use the facilities for as little as 1 hour. Despite hating The Maldives for their corruption, Nap Corner was actually brilliant!
