What was originally a shipping area and a place full of warehouses is now a favorite hotspot for both locals and tourists. In fact, when you go around the area, you will only know of its industrial past if only you know the history of the place.

Dumbo has grown to be an entrepreneur’s palace. There is quite a large number of thriving businesses and other social amenities. Even the luxury hotel Condor is right near DUMBO.

For any person interested in touring the area, getting to Dumbo is pretty simple. If you opt for public transport, two trains will drop you off at Dumbo. One train will drop you off at York street while the other at High street.

Dumbo may be relatively small, but it has amazing places you could visit.

  • Walk around the Dumbo

Strolling around Dumbo is relaxing. The cobblestone roads, new luxury buildings mixed with the old warehouses give the area a one-of-a-kind vibe.

There are tons of restaurants where you can grab a quick snack or have a full-course meal. There are also a couple of coffee shops and other amenities set up in the area.

For any tourist who wants to experience the amazing architecture of Dumbo, there are organized walking tours that you could enroll in.

  • Brooklyn bridge

Visiting the Brooklyn bridge while in Dumbo is a no-brainer. This is a must-see attraction for any tourist. Apart from the Golden Gate Bridge, the Brooklyn Bridge is the most iconic bridge in the United States.

More than one hundred thousand motor vehicles and approximately ten thousand pedestrians (sightseers included) pass through the bridge daily.

To have a good glimpse of the bridge, make a point of crossing it very early in the morning before it is overcrowded by pedestrians.

After the stroll, you could relax at the new Brooklyn Bridge Park as you enjoy the magnificent view of the Manhattan skyline. The park has various social amenities such as volleyball, soccer, and basketball courts that allow you to break a sweat.

  • Time out market

The time out market in Dumbo gives guests and the locals a new experience in terms of cuisine. The aroma of their cultural delicacies is sure to make you salivate. There is a large restaurant scene where only the best of the best have the rare opportunity of showing off their culinary skills.

  • Gleason’s gym

What other way to get a good workout while on vacation than going to the Gleason’s gym? Gleason’s gym is one of the most boxing training gyms in the United States. The likes of Mike Tyson and Roberto Duran trained here.

Several celebrities have trained here in preparation for movie roles. A very good example is Wesly Snipes who trained at the Gleason’s gym for his role in the 1987 Streets of Gold film. Why not visit the gym and be part of history?

You will not miss places to visit the moment you step into Dumbo. Powerhouse arena, Manhattan’s bridge Archway, and the Dumbo flea are additional places to visit. Just make sure you plan your time to reduce the probability of running out of time and not visiting some of Dumbo’s major attractions.
