I’m delighted to introduce a world traveller with a special talent today! You have to meet and embrace people like the Amazing Marawa. This lady who hails from Melbourne has travelled the world being a hula hoop expert. I met her in Pyongyang, North Korea of all places, while on tour with YPT the best North Korea travel company. Not only did Marawa enjoy some drinks with Panny (my girlfriend) and I, but she trained us up on hula hoops and we sang karaoke together! Over to you, Marawa!

What is the best travel experience you’ve had?
Successfully buying a bike and registering it in Japan because I had a broken foot – you cant have a bike unless its registered but somehow the address I made up and ID worked. So then I rode all over the place for 2 weeks yeah!
What is the worst travel experience you’ve had?
Food poisoning in Porto. I say no more.
What is the funniest travel experience you’ve had?
Driving in vegas – it thankfully wasnt funny for too long – once i worked out what side of the road I was meant to be on..
What is the scariest travel experience you’ve had?
Being lost at night. its happened in a few countries! thats always one to avoid.
What is the most random job you have had on your travels?
Does hooping still count? (Ed – of course)
How do you fund your travels?
Work – either I am travelling for shows, or If I want to go somewhere I use the money from the shows.
What 3 tips would you give a new traveller before they set off on their adventure?
Pack less.
Have a good selection of medicine, oral rehydration, bandaids etc packed and ready
Comfortable shoes
What are your future travel plans?
Paris, Mexico and maybe Columbia by the end of the year!

- She has performed and taught hoops on almost every continent.
