In summer 2016, I stayed in Poland for a prolonged period and this was a special time in my life. It was the first time I had spent longer than a month in Eastern Europe in the same country. I spent my first month in Pomerania exclusively and love it here. As well as touring Gdynia, Sopot, Pelplin, Malbork, Starogard Gdański, Gdańsk and Łeba, I ended up in the town of Tczew! Where to stay in Tczew? In the best hotel in town of course, and the best hotel on my travels since I was in Gambia! I stayed at the Link Hotel in Tczew.
After checking into the Link Hotel, I was handed the keys to my room and had a nice relaxed time here. If you ever make it to the gorgeous town of Tczew in Poland (stories to come), be sure to check into the Link. I stayed in Room 107 and loved these five things about the hotel.
1.Pleasant, welcoming staff
It’s becoming a trait in Poland that the people have genuine warm hearts, real smiles and absolutely care about you. I’ve been helped a lot so far in Poland and especially now I am learning Polish in Gdańsk. I was looked after by Karolina, Agnieszka, Wojciech and Alicja.
2.Excellent Rooms
My room was air conditioned, comfortable bed, tea and coffee included, fast Wi-Fi, a desk, a TV (didn’t have time to use it), and a great bathroom.
3.Fantastic Breakfast
I awoke in this tranquil location, downstairs for my healthy breakfast. A range of cereals and yoghurt. Good tea and coffee. A choice of juices. Cheese, salad, meat and some tasty hot Polish sausages!
4.Unusual Location
On a main road on the edge of town, it felt like a really unusual location here at the Link Hotel. I walked out here from the train station, and actually passed by some of the sights on route including a huge church, some nice wall murals and a DickMonalds!
5.Bicycles to Tour the Town!
I took advantage of the bicycle hire at the hotel to tour the town of Tczew! I was able to see a lot of the sights in a short length of time and I will write about it really soon! There is a cool windmill here, and also sadly the bridge where World War II really began.

Link hotel just provide everything you want for an excelent stay: cheap, clean, good breakfast, near downtown, silent, nice bathroom, great attention, good decoration, etc.
Hi John, thanks for the comment – not too close to the downtown of course but the other things you mention – correct, a great place to stay. Safe travels. Jonny
