Venice is a dream location and I am very happy to say that I have been there. A unique city and a must see. It is a city on water basically an island in an inlet on the north east coast of Italy.
Of course my memories of the city itself will forever be tainted by love. This a city of passion, culture and architecture.
Deep down this a city for lovers. I took about 600 photos there, just managed to keep a few with me here so will post more of Venice in the future. I spent five days there enjoying the splendour of this island off the coast of Italy.
We stayed in the Hotel Noemi – it was exquisite and luxurious – and it didn’t come cheap. I was travelling with Noemi, so money didn’t matter but and the place was excellent. There’s Noemi by her name sign in the posh hotel lobby.
There’s Noemi in San Marco Square, feeding the pigeons.
We got a Gondola ride through the pretty canals. The Gondola ride was about 100 Euros for 1 hour cruise through the tiny canals. There was just two of us and the Gondola Punter. We were on a Gondola called Laura.
Noemi lives a dream she probably couldn’t have lived – living the easy life in Venice!
You buy a weekly ticket for the boat system and you can hop on and hop off as much as you like. For 100 odd Euros this was actually good value and we milked it – going everywhere on the VSC boats. There’s a pretty Noemi staring out at sea at Venice.
Hmm…and again the sunshine with San Marco square in the background.
Drinking wine in the wee poky bar round the corner from our hotel.
Noemi having a coffee (of which we enjoyed many) by Rialto Bridge. I am not sure if I will or can ever return to the beauty of Venice. My memories are fresh, abundant, vivid and scarred.
That photo on the webpage there, is the exact room where Noemi and I once stayed. I later wrote my story about Noemi Linzenbold and the times we shared and how I lost myself.
