As we whackpack our way through a year tarnished in global excrement, things don’t get any easier. There’s just over a month of 2020 left. What have we learned? Personally, I didn’t learn anything other than what I already knew. But I did more writing this year. In 2020 I did more writing than I did in any of the previous 20 years. I wrote so much that I have loose pages just lying around on my desk. They are all inspiration. All those things I wrote down this year, I’ll use them in some way. Words are king.

Here are some of the things I have been considering most this year, 2020. Time moves on.

My Real Life Book Releases

It’s not like some kind of exclusive or anything. Everybody that knows me, they know I write incessantly. I have enough material to never need to do anything again in life. From my life so far, I have enough stories and mayhem for the rest of my life. This is why staying at home and being in lockdown is easy for me. I did it all already. I whackpacked the globe. At least this year, I have been able to reflect on that. These are the actual storybooks that should all be released, and in the order I plan to release them.

June 2020 – Backpacking Centurion – Volume 1 – Don’t Look Back In Bangor
January 2021 (yes delayed, again!) – Backpacking Centurion – Volume 2 – Lands Down Under
February 2021 (brought forward, since volume 2 was delayed!) – Backpacking Centurion – Volume 3 – Taints and Honours
August 2021 – How I Ended Up In Poland (this has a title and all chapter titles already, just needs completed)
September 2021 – Backpacking Centurion – The Black Volume (needs edited)
December 2021 – My GAWA Story (this has a title and all chapter titles already, just needs completed)

Those 6 books will be released in print only for now. Later on, I might release audio version. I hate eBooks (even though 3 of my first 5 books were eBooks!) but may succumb to commercial global ebookism one day.

The Changing World

While I might seem like a modern tech geek, I’m really not that tech savvy. I hate the running mechanisms of computers, internet, websites etc. I hate getting to grips with new technologies. I only joined PayPal in 2012 because I was making money as a professional travel blogger and that was the only way to get paid. I still don’t understand it all. I still get confused about real life currency, physical money, digital money, bank transfers, virtual currencies. I’ll need somebody to explain all of that to me. Recently though, with getting angry with my UK based bank, I delved into the world of online banking and “crypto currencies”. Have you researched it yet? I am slowly getting there. I started off checking out Bitcoin, trying to get my head round it, studying the bitcoinup website and moving some of my money into the “virtual world”. Don’t Stop Living is a country, remember?

Crypto: The Perfect New Travel Currency to replace my Botswanese Pula?

We will see how it all goes, it’s something new. We need to protect our money in crisis times.
