1.Parc Olympique Lyonnais
Lyon’s football stadium is called Groupama Stadium. It’s also known as Parc Olympique Lyonnais or simply Parc OL. This modern, multi-purpose venue is located in Décines-Charpieu, just outside Lyon, and has a capacity of around 59,186 seats. It was here where Northern Ireland knocked out Ukraine 2-0 in the group stage of Euro 2016. Goals came from Niall McGinn and Gareth McAuley.
2.Traboule Et Cour Des Voraces
This is a nuts place, which are hidden passageways unique to Lyon, originally used by silk workers and located in the Croix-Rousse district. It’s a history buff dream and one for quirky bloggers and architecture lovers too. It also features a striking staircase and historic courtyard.

5.Fountain Bartholdi
Lyon’s fountains are more than just water features — they’re sculptural masterpieces that tell stories and give the city a real ambience. The most iconic is the epic Fontaine Bartholdi, located in Place des Terreaux. This water firer was designed by Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi (yep, the same guy who sculpted the Statue of Liberty at USA away), this dramatic fountain depicts France as a woman steering a chariot pulled by four wild horses, symbolizing the country’s major rivers. It’s a popular photo spot in the city center.
6. Place du Maréchal Lyautey
The Place Du Marechal Lyautey is a peaceful square in the 6th arrondissement and it is surrounded by elegant buildings and leafy trees. As well as this there are loads of cool cafes and bars to check out so you can get a night on the rip here with good French wine.
All in all, Lyon is a super city in France, an underestimated one which lives in the shadows of Paris, Saint Malo, Nice and Marseille. It is definitely worth checking out Lyon and backpacking it hardcore to tick off the main sights.
