5. Virginia State Capitol Tour

You can organize a tour of Richmond’s most famous building, the impressive Virginia State Capitol. The building is open to visitors every day of the week at the following times:

Monday to Saturday: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sunday: 1 to 5 p.m.

Guided tours take place between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday to Saturday. Self-guided tours are available at all times, and on Sunday, the guided tours run from 1 to 4 p.m. The building really is a fascinating and historic building to tour when you’re in Richmond. The Virginia State Capitol building has been home to the Virginia General Assembly since 1788.
