Road Trip Part 7 – Fuel Stop At Bairnsdale

A longer pleasant drive brought me to the city of Bairnsdale. Undoubtedly the largest settlement on this route I was taking. A blurred sign of the “Welcome to Bairnsdale” sign on the way in.

It took me a while to drive through the carriageway through the city, which had many residential suburbs.

A war memorial in the city centre.

St. Mary’s Church.

A petrol stop.

A tree and park on the way out of the city…


And that was all that I saw or wanted to see of Bairnsdale, as it had to be a rush effort to see Marlo, 90 Mile Beach and a dream of Malacoota by dusk…

Population of Bairnsdale – 40,000


Distance Travelled – 342 kilometres


AN AREA NEAR BAIRNSDALE WAS BADLY AFFECTED BY BUSHFIRES IN 2006:
