WhenĀ it was arranged that Northern Ireland would play Romania away in a football friendly in 2024, I just had to go. It was a nobrainer and it was the culmination and cumulation of a ten year itch waiting to be scratch and all this for a day of freedom in the happy life. If only. You see, way back in November 2014, Northern Ireland were also playing Romania away. At that time, I had never been to Romania or Moldova and I went on that adventure as a professional travel blogger, back in the glory days when Don’t Stop Living was only 7 years old, I had no books finished and I was on a mission to backpack endlessly. 1.City Centre Location
You are sleeping on Alexander Pushkin Street bang in the city centre, near the top 12 sights, the top 5 bars and all that.
2.Fast Wi-Fi
I needed to book my onward trips from here to Cameroon (via Belgium and Morocco), Gabon and Sao Tome and the fast Wi-Fi allowed me to do this.
3.Cheap
I had a single bed in a six bed dorm and it was very cheap. Less than 20 Euros. Moldova is a cheap country, but this place is even cheaper.
I used this as my base before backpacking through Comrat in Gagauzia and it’s a cool hostel. I also was out in a few different bars this time. I’m a fan of Chisinau / Kishinev. As I waved it goodbye this time, again I felt it wouldn’t be my last time here. The city’s got a charm.
