Mega World Cup parties in the J Sun hostel in Fortaleza!
As the World Cup hits Brazil for undoubtedly the craziest party of my lifetime, we decided to kick things off in the city of Fortaleza. We went to the Brazil v. Mexico match in Fortaleza and based ourselves in the city for a hat trick of days, loving the place. We stayed in the J Sun Hostel, which was a cool spot to stay in and I totally recommend it as the backpacking hostel of Fortaleza!

Here are the top 7 things I liked about the J Sun Hostel…
1. Free Wi-Fi
As you know, I work on the move and I rely on free and good wi-fi. J Sun has it and I made use of it by adding some cool World Cup photos to the Don’t Stop Living Facebook page.

2. Excellent Atmosphere
The buzz in the J Sun hostel in Fortaleza was amazing especially during the Brazil World Cup of 2014. An excellent atmosphere, everyone happy and partying!

3. New Friends
I made some cool new friends in the J Sun Hostel including Dorian from Canada who came to the Brazil v. Mexico match.

Even better the place was totally sociable and buzzing because of the World Cup!! On the day of the Germany v. Portugal match and Mexico v. Brazil match everyone was in good spirits!

4. Top Class Breakfast
The breakfast in the J Sun Hostel was amazing. All you can eat bread rolls with cheese, egg and ham. Endless fruit. Tea, coffee and special types of juice, one was Papaya.

As well as the papaya, melon and watermelon there were bananas and apples to take away. Plus a nice yoghurt drink.

5. Security
Every room has lockers and the staff also minded our bags when we went out to tour the city again after checking out. One of the essential things a hostel should have.

6. Location
I loved the way it’s just 20 minutes walk from the key tourist sights – Cathedral, Mercado Central, Art Square etc. And on the other side, it’s just 20 minutes walk from the beach which hosted some epic Fortaleza World Cup parties!

7. Beer
As a backpacker, we love a hostel with beer and the J Sun has an ice cool fridge with beer available all day for 3 Reals ($1.30 US). Of course you could bring your own and get it cheaper, but when you’re in such great company and having fun, $1.30 for a beer will not break the bank!
