Ask me a year ago if I had heard of Stars and Bucks Coffee Shop and I’d have said no for sure. But here I was in October 2013 backpacking through the streets of Bethlehem in Palestine. Having already had my Taybeh Palestinian beer, my mind drifted to a sharp burst of coffee to keep me awake and aware as we headed on a journey out of Bethlehem to Jericho. Walking through Bethlehem I spotted a coffee shop called “Stars and Bucks Cafe”.
With a distinct green, white and brown logo, this Palestinian brand of coffee shop just had to be tried. I had already seen the spot where Jesus was allegedly born, by the way…
What is Stars and Bucks Coffee?
It’s a chain of coffee shops, found only in Palestine. On my visit to the country I found them in Bethlehem and Ramallah. I have no idea if they are in the Gaza Strip or other parts of Palestine though the website link below might tell you.
What do they sell?
Coffee is their main product. Teas and fruit juices are also available. As well as some authentic Stars and Bucks cups.
What are the prices like?
Pretty good! For 10 Israeli Shekels you can get a decent cappuccino! Much cheaper than companies like Pacific Coffee, Costa, Piacetto and Starbucks.
What does a Stars and Bucks Coffee taste like?
Again, pretty good. Just the drink I needed before heading down down down to the world’s lowest and oldest city, Jericho. The Stars and Bucks coffee is recommended. Head to Palestine and try it.

Agree Emily – a friend of mine told me there was another coffee chain with a similar name in the USA but I’ve yet to try it. Stars and Bucks was cool! Safe travels. Jonny
“Allegedly…” Who can take it anymore? I know, I know… If it did not happen in your lifetime, it never happened. You’d think a world traveler would know better… What happens in Bethlehem stays in Bethlehem…
Hi Sig, thanks for the comment, even though I have know idea what you mean by “allegedly” or “who can take it anymore”. Bethlehem is a great spot though – worth checking out. Safe travels. Jonny
